American Red Cross Family Caregiver Support Classes

For the Family Caregiver
The Clinic Resource Group (CRG) is an authorized provider of American Red Cross Family Caregiver Classes. These classes are called Family Caregiver Support Classes and they are currently available in larger cities in select states. Classes are held at local hospitals and other community locations. Our approved class instructors can also arrange for special class meeting dates, times and locations for larger groups.

The purpose of Family Caregiver Support Classes is to help participants gain an understanding of what is involved in caring for a loved one and know how to provide that care through nine one-hour class modules. Topics include personal care, nutrition, home safety and other subjects. This information is of vital importance to those caring for their loved ones who suffer from chronic illness or disabilities. These classes are free and participants receive a booklet for each module. Some of the Class Modules are:

• General Caregiving Skills
• Positioning and Helping Your Loved One Move
• Assisting with Personal Care
• Healthy Eating
• Caring for the Caregiver
• Legal and Financial Issues
• Caring for a Loved One with Alzheimer's Disease or Dementia
• Caring for a Loved One with HIV/AIDS

For Professionals & Companies Serving Older Adults

Clinic Resource Group (CRG) offers the Corporate Family Care Program. With this program qualified professionals and companies serving older adults can become an Authorized Provider of American Red Cross Family Caregiver Classes in their area. Our Authorized Providers are showcased and presented to businesses as well as at every general caregiver class taught throughout the year. The Corporate Family Care Program helps us bring these valuable programs into local communities.
